Death is a very fickle thing because it could happen at anytime and can happen you might not know it is. Death has many definitions including the more popular ones scientific and the religious. Science says death depends on the situation for example you could be brain dead which your body would still function for a couple minutes or you could be body dead where your body is no longer able to function. For science death is nothing. It is describes as no activity in the brain so you wouldn’t even be able to perceive that fact that there is nothing. Religion’s definition of death, on the other hand, is when your soul leaves your body and transcends into heaven where it can be reunited with your god or your soul is reused as you are reborn as another living being (reincarnation). Even though there are those who have defined death in such a way I couldn’t so if I were to answer the question on what my understanding of death is I would have to leave the answer blank because I don’t have a full understanding of death. I feel the whole meaning of life is to figure out the truths about your own life and what your purpose is but you can’t define something that transcends physical reality. Death cannot be defined by those who have not experienced it and to have the experience would mean to leave the physical world behind in search of the truth. I want to believe that there is something beyond death but you can’t be 100% sure that there is something beyond nothing. Beyond black. Death is a mystery that can never be solved. Even if you are able to bring someone back to life you cannot fully grasp the true nature of death. You can slow down, speed up, or even stop death but you cannot understand that which doesn’t physically exist. We all secretly want to believe in the religious definition of death but it just logically seems impossible. The only thing we know is death is the end of the possible. So to answer the question on my understanding of death I would have to give you a response in heaven, beyond what is known.

What is my Understanding of Death?
